Agpilot, wearing an American Eagle and Old Glory is what you do because you love America and what it stands for. Wearing a MC patch is something that you earn, you cannot buy it. If you emulate a MC patch, you'd better be ready to defend it with your life or give it up. Respecting the right of those that have earned a patch is like recieving a purple heart or a silver cross, or Medal of Honor. You better be wearing those because you earned it. In the MC world unless you have earned a MC patch you'll be ask to surrender it...thats just the way it is. Kai

I'll help defend any american who wants to wear an American Flag Patch or American Eagle...

jonathan about 2 months ago here in phx a young man was arrested for pretending to be a service member a marine. so there are laws against trying to pass yourself off as something you are not there are also groups that go after men who try to pass them self off as special ops members. here in az you have a good size number of patched 1% bikers i myself was asked to be a prospect. i choose to ride unpatched but will go on rides with groups or clubs as long as there is respect

I posted a while back about a woman who wore a Sons of Anarchy sweatshirt with the SoA back patch silkscreened on the back. She was threatened with bodily harm. Told it was disrespectful. It's FAN GEAR. Someone got threatened for wearing FAN GEAR. No one out riding, walking, or otherwise enjoying themselves, minding their own business deserves any crap from ANYONE because of what they are wearing. I don't care what reason they put behind it. Respect, honor, fallen this person or that, anything. When you start acting like a total self-righteous jerk in the name of something, YOU are the one dishonoring what that stands for. Not me.

so she was wandering around in a shirt with a set of faux colours on the back copying a set of M.C. colours and got pulled for it?

ain´t that a suprise! sort of goes with my post above.

in the ads for that stuff they often say `novelty gear only - not advisable to wear in the street or on bikes´, but folks have a hard time listening.

putting up imitation colours on your back and saying ` it´s my right and i´ll do what i want´ whilst ignoring long established norms (regardless of if you agree with them or not), THAT is being a self righteous jerk, or at least willfully ignorant. any consequenses are down to the person, but having said that, in contempory society no-one seems to like to take resposibility for their own actions and it´s always someone elses fault.

Copying a set of MC colours? It's not colors. It's not a patch. It's not even a real club. Perhaps you don't know what Sons of Anarchy is. It's a TV show. The argument of warnings from the manufacturer is irrelevant, though I guarantee that there were and are not, no one should be "pulled" for someone's inability to see that someone is simply a fan of a TV show.

True statement You have to earn THE M/C PATCH, It may take up to 2-3 years for total acceptenance, based on how far you the recepient want to go in earning That "RESPECT IN THE BROTHERHOOD" Additionally you will continue to earn the right to wear the M/C PATCH or it will be removed!!!!!!

I sure do know the difference, believe me. But you didnt read well I believe. I talked about those guys who say it is about respect but it isn't. That has nothing to do with fear, more common sense. But you have never been in the situation because you dont wear any.
